Lecture in German: Der Blick der Drohne – Zum Verhältnis von Kultur und Technik
The eyes are our primary interface to the world. They supply us with factual and emotional information, let us recognize things, evaluate situations and coordinate actions in space. A technical enhanced view is realized by separating the place of perception from the location of the body and at the same time enriching the field of vision by inherently invisible information. Such an upgrade of our vision pursues the goal to exploit new human action spaces. Combat drones verify, how the technically enhanced glance becomes a weapon. But drones are only the starting point of the talk. The reflections on the technically enhanced glance are completed by examples from psychology and the arts.
